Accidentaly laid my bike down today at work. She started tipping over and away we she went. A little chrome got scratched but no paint. However my front brake lever is pretty bent up. Can i fix this myself or just order a new one? Any ideas?
Im surprized it didnt snap. I think the brake lever is aluminum. You can try to straighten it out, if it doesnt snap or if you dont like the way it looks, you can always replace it. Good luck in whichever way you go.
I just got pissed with it and took a hammer to it. It straightened out a little but not much. Damn! I'll work on it some more when I get home with a pair of vice grips and pliers. It may be time to add some more chrome.
Well, it was straightening out pretty good, was almost straight. Then, you guessed it, SNAP! The end broke right off. How hard is it to change the front brake lever?
The chrome ones look WAY better once you get them on, compared to the stockers. They are simple to replace. Its easier to get the right side out if you loosen the switch housing. take the snap rings off the bottom of the pins. Push the pins out and take the levers off. The clutch cable will need to come off and on the brake side make sure to slip a small piece of cardboard in between the lever and the master cylinder housing to prevent breaking the stop switch.
