Default Re-jet

Just finished installing big sucker stage 1 and rejetted with a 46 slow. Already had the shortshots on. Redialed idle and mixture and it runs great, got rid of the decel pop completely. Only problem is it quit on me once at a light when I cracked the throttle and I do get a slight kinda hesitation when I crack the throttle from idle. Only when in neutral, under load don't seem to get the hesitation. Any thoughts?

What color are your spark plugs since the rejet? They should be off white to a light tan. Anything darker than that is too rich. you may only need a 45 "Pilot" jet.

Haven't looked yet. Had to take AC back off, an o-ring fell off during install and I didn't see it. Found it on floor when I came back. Instead of changing back to the 45, I'm out about 2.5 turns on the mixture, can I go in about 1/2 turn?

I suggest you only adjust the mixture screw in 1/8 - 1/4 turn increments. It doesn't take much to make a difference.

That is just the Idle mixture adjustment screw. Has nothing to do with much of anything else. Not sure what you piad for the #46 jet but I know the local indy charges $3.10 forjets here. It's an easy and cheap enough switch.

Here are a couple of excellent articles, with pictures that cover re-jetting and carb tuning:

Yeah, that's what I paid for the 46 and I have the 45 that came out. I figured if leaning it a bit with the mixture would be a quicker fix. I'll ride it for about a half hour, check the plugs and go from there. Thanks guys.

Went 1/8 in on the mixture and rode for about 40 minutes....no problems and the plugs look good.Maybe it just needed more running time and I rode it pretty hard. It's about 48 degrees and damp, let's see when it's 85 and humid.

I re-tune my carb for each season. Cold dry air, and warm humid air doesn't combust the same way.
