Hey;
Lou here; my Sportster is hard to shift from 2nd gear to 3rd gear. I've tried shifting fast, shifting slow, tried easing it into 3rd gear. Tried different RPMs. Nothing seems to make a difference. It is just hard to get into 3rd gear. no grinding or noise. All th other gears are smooth and crisp. like they should be. is this 3rd gear problem normal with sportsters. i have an 06 1200C

Slow and easy are not the best way to shift my '05, but I have only missed 2nd from 1st a few times (felt like leaving a putt short ARRGH)
I'd listen to 6066, and possible change tranny fluid if you haven't yet.
