Default 95" bagger vs Nightster power wise?

Hi, I'm kinda new here

anyway, I recently sold my Eglide. I bought it as I was doing long trips on a superglide and wanted a better "touring" bike. Then for various reasons stopped going on long rides.

so, my bagger had a 95" with heads, cams, pipes and air. it was just under 100hp and a lil over 100 tq

in a couple days I'm picking up my 08 nightster. it will have the 2 into 1 thunderheader pipe, air kit and SERT

now, never riding a EVO powered bike, other than a buell.. will I be disapointed in the power?

do you think that the nightster would out run my bagger? or at least out accelerate it ?

thanks!

I'm alsmot suprised no one replied yet but then again similar threads are started often typically by someone from the other bike forums (baggers, dynas, softails) trying to fish for an argument that a sportster is poor in comparison.

Anyway, welcome to the forum and in answer to your question:
The 1200N is 266lbs. lighter than your former bagger and higher revving so light to light, 1/4 mile etc.its going to flat out accelerate beyond what the e-glide felt like especially with your 2-1 and upgrades so you won't be disppointed there. 70mph and over is where the big twins start to blow by sporties with ease. It should feel about like the superglide you had only a bit more nimble and perhaps a tad quicker but not guicker than the Buell you mentioned riding.

The biggest difference coming from an SG and EG is it wont be comfortable, just fun to ride and also take it easy in the corners as being low it scrapes easily.

Thank you for your reply

I sold my superglide shortly after buying the Eglide.. the Superglide just had pipes, air, and DFO and it was fun to ride as it was so light (in comparison) My Eglide would beat it.. even in a 1/4
but if it is as you say.. I'll be happy, I don't really care about top speed, I want to just pick up quickly and be able to toss it around a bit.

well, now that I've had the nightster for a couple days.. I can say, from 0 to maybe 70, I'm pretty sure the nightster would beat my old bagger.. kinda hard to tell, and I feel like in the quarted the bagger would catch and pass the nightster at about 70 but maybe not..

I haven't FULLY ran it hard yet as it's still kinda new.

I have almost he exact setup that you are getting but mine is an 07. It pulls really good on the low end and I am usually shifting into 3rd at 60 to 70 when I am on it hard.

I think you will be happy
