Default air intake question (hypercharger)

i have an 05 1200r, i have only had the sound package upgrade done at hd, and was thinking of adding a kuryakyn hypercharger. was wondering if anyone has heard anything either good or bad about it. going mostly for a different look but do not want to lose any power in the process. hypothetically, should gain some power one would think. any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks!!

Don't know what the 'sound package' is, but I've had a hypercharger. DO NOT confuse Hypercharger w/ supercharger, turbocharger, etc... The hypercharger is a naturally aspirated style air intake.
The Hypercharger is just a fancy air intake, fancy becasue it has moving fins. I'm not doggin it one bit, I had it on my Sporty, and it was just one part of a bike that SCREAMED.
It's cool, and it works, but it's also a lot of bling.
Depending on what you already have for an air cleaner, you could see pretty good gains if you're running stock.

i've heard it only looks good. i have a screaming eagle air cleaner with a breather kit, works good and it all cost about 50 bucks on
e-bay. i thought about a hypercharger, but i wonder how good it is in the rain. and its spendy. if its looks you want, i like the forcewinder the best

jhugs 92 - by sound pakage I am thinking exhaust. Any AC other than stock will increase airflow to the engine, believe what you decide and enjoy the bling of the HC if that's your style, but adding the AC, you might want to rejet, tons of info on how to do that here, enjoy HDF and welcome

Hypercharger is nothing but hype. There have been dyno runs done that showed a power increase when it was removed. Don't have one handy at the moment.

If you just want it for looks at the sacrifice of some power, then you'll be OK.

I'm afraid I have to agree with TCSTD on this one. I have always considered the Hypercharger more "Hype" than a good functional open AC. I just don't care for adding unnecessary moving parts (vanes) and I wouldn't trust it in the rain. I know a lot of people like them and use them - just not my style or cup of tea.
