I finally installed the SE II's (Thanks Kanzig) - awsome (and loud) sound !
I rode about 25 miles today, and it seems to perform the same as with the stock mufflers.
Until I can replentish my funds, I am waiting a bit to have the carb re-jetted.
What might happen (good/bad/nothing) if I run the SE II's without a rejet for a while ?
I have researched this question, and got lots of different answers.
I also had the 1200L bars installed - its's much more comfortable now.
They look good! Glad you like the sound, I thought they had a really good rumble to them. I did notice at low end of the gears with the SEII pipes the bike had a bit more chance of lugging but just keep the RPMs up a bit higher and that isn't an issue at all. Are you going to do the full Stage 2 and get a new air cleaner and such with the re-jet?
Very nice looking bike. I put on Vance and Hines Python 3's with nothing else and had no problems. Indy said would be problems, but dealer said need to do stage one. Needless to say he wanted a lot of money LOL But I left it with just the pipes for a good while whith no problems.
You can get by for a while with the stock jetting, you will notice an improvement in performance when you rejet. When you do rejet just buy jetsdon't let anyone con you into one of the $100+ jet kits they are all junk and don't do any more than $10 worth of jets.
I put a set of bad boy bars on my wifes 883C and they made a worldof differance for her over the stock drag bars.
