Price Check
HighDesertKid ~ We ended up buying the bike from Gail's Harley Davidson (http://www.feelthepower.com) here in the Kansas City area. I'm not sure what you're referring to as OTD? We did end up paying the $285 documentation fee, but the Freight and Setup were not charged.
We also ended up buying about $1650 worth of accessories (Detachable tour-pak / backrest, quick release windshield, black engine guard, Rush slip-ons and all "mounting" hardware, which I'm installing everything.) They also gave us 10% off of all the accessories.
So the breakdown is as:
Bike $9000
Documentation Fee: $285
Accessories (-10%) $1502
====================
Total $10787
As it happens, the dealership was having their annual 36-hour sale.
Teek ~ The bike had 5 miles on it. So I guess you could call that slightly used.

You probably got such a kick *** deal due to the amount you spent on accessories.
still, with that much in accessories, you spent probably less than most on a nightster itself.
Can you come with me when I buy my next bike???????!!!!! I definately can't wheel and deal like you!

Many of us in the Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, and even Arkansas area travel the extra distance to do business at Gail's.
HighDesertKid is aHarley DavidsonSales rep...OTD means, Out The Door.
And I'll echo rob i again....What color did you get? And got any pics?[8D]

I think the biggest part of the deal was they sell a lot of bikes during this annual sale (to the tune of 80+ bikes over the 36 hours). So perhaps they get some kind of kick back from HD corporate for moving such a high volume of units. Plus I'm sure if they finance a large percentage of those, that's just more money for HD.
We didn't even mention wanting accessories until we had settled on the price of the bike. I also forgot to mention they threw in a couple of T-Shirts (self-promoting, of course) for the wife & son. They advertise the dealership on the back with the slogan "I got mine at Gail's" with their logo.
As for the color, the wife started off wanting the orange & black, but the more she looked at them, the more she decided she liked the solid gloss black (Vivid Black) better. Which I liked better to begin with. It's the same color as my '05 EG Classic.
I would also agree with OldFenderGuy on the tuning expertise of the mechanics at Gail's. When I had my Reinharts put on, Gail's did the work as well as the dyno set up.
I'll have to work on the pics, but they'll be coming.

Brad
