Default PCIII ?

Did anyone leave the O2 sensors unplugged from the wiring harness? Did the engine light come on? I bought V&H shortshots and I was going to plug off the O2 sensor holes (like fuelmoto said was ok) I didn't have the correct size plug, so I just put the O2 sensors back in the holes and left the wiring unplugged and I got the engine light. I plugged the wiring back together and the engine light is off. Bike runs great. Did anyone just discard the O2 sensors and not have the engine light come on?

NO!.......

Call Jamie at fuelmoto and let him walk you thru it....you might have to disconnect the PCIII and drive it awhile to allow the ECM to reset itself to stock conditions.....If you do that, then reinstall and reconnect the 02 sensors.

Once you are back at zero, then reconnect the PCIII (with proper map installed), and then disconnect the 02's and install the little plugs on the wires that connect to them. You do not have to actually remove the 02 sensors, just install the PCIII supplied plugs on the wires that connect to the sensors.

I've got a PCIII on both my bikes and it really makes a difference.

If all you have done is installed shortshots, then you can disconnect the PCIII and reconnect the 02's and be ok........If later you want more power, then properly install and configure the PCIII including 02 sensor eliminator plugs and fuel map.

I left the O2 sensors in the stock pipes and electrical taped them closed and installed the O2 elimaters. I am waiting for my V&H Short Shots to come in tomorrow and will leave the sensors off completely. I have had no problems with a check engine light with it set up this way and can't wait to see the difference the PC III and V&H's make tomorrow, hopefully the weather holds out. I also go the go ahead from the Boss on the HD SE Heavy Breather!

Congrats on the wife letting you get the HD Heavy Breather! You'll enjoy the leg room and additional power

Yeah, I had to let her get a Garmin for her car though, it is removable so I figure it wasa good compromise. Is the Heavy Breather that much further forward that yourknee doesn't hit it? That will be nice, I am tired of realizing that I am smashing my knee in to the Ham Can.

Your knee will clear the heavy breather on a sportster, but not on a road king or other touring bike.

Yes the Heavybreather will help with leg room, the stock aircleaner sticks about 3-4inches further towards the back than the Heavy Breather
