Has anyone here used the big city thunder "Monster Baffles." I have Vance and hines slip ons with removable baffles and am wondering if anyone has had good luck with the Monster baffles. I would like a lower deeper tone than the vance and hines have right now. Thanks!
I dont think the Big Cities do anything for you. My friend had them and took them out right after he had it on the dyno. Cant speak for myself. V&H is the way to go id say.
Dont get me wrong my Straightshots are awesome but the grass is always greener...you know. Just thought maybe I could get a bit of a lower meaner tone with the other baffles. Thanks for the input guys.
I didn't word my first post correctly...I have the Monster Baffles installed in my Straight shots and I wouldn't trade them back for anything...
I didn't go and dyno the bike for results but I can tell you first hand that I felt the difference immediately..."seat of the pants" so to speak. Maybe it's the way my motor is set up...(Andrews N4 cams, Yost Master Kit, Screamin Eagle Airbox, Nology Wires and Beru Plugs, Re-routed breathers)
I finished all the other work and road the bike for a month and a half before changing the baffles...Those baffles are the icing on the cake for my ride..
Have them in my straightshots an gives you more low-mid range torque. Not as loud as just running with no baffles, but a little louder and deeper than stander baffle. Maybe person that took them out after dino was looking for top end speed and drag pipes or vance an hines with no baffles will give you best top end. Very happy with vance an hines an big city thunders.
Thanks folks! I might just have to try those baffles. At a steady speed this bike still sounds a bit too "hondaish" for me. Something about the way the exhaust pulses....I dont know. I drilled out the baffles on the stock pipes and it sounded to tinish. It sounded like crap. If I remove the "stock" baffles from the vance and hines wont it sound exactly the same...they're both open pipes. Just asking....saves time on the wrench!
