Default Oil leak

Riding my bike after 60 miles I noticed oil on my chaps on the right thigh close to the oil tank. Also on the tank I noticed oil. The cap is on right and this is the only place I see oil on the bike. This is on a 2006 1200c. 3000 miles last oil change was at the dealers. Any ideas?

That was my first thought I just had the oil changed at the steelers a month ago. It seems to be at the top end of the full mark when full. Right on the line.

if its completely up to the full line, it has way to much oil in it. get a turkey baster and siphon out 8 ounces

The service manual states that you need 3.6 quarts of oil in the tank, but that's too much and Harley has changed the recommendation to 2.8 or so (3.0 at the absolute max). I had the same problem. Also, I had oil coming out of my breather and they had to install a new rocker box (they installed an '07 rocker box on my '06). No problems since.

Sorrry I haven't responded back sooner. It appears as if it was to much oil, I removed about 7 oz out and took a good run with no leaks. Thanks for the help..
