I just installed a set of Python slip-on mufflers on my 2008 1200R and am just not happy with the sound. I believe the mufflers are 2 1/2"? Anyone change out the stock baffles in theirs? What brand? What size do I need? I find a lot of baffles for 2 1/4" pipes but nothing for \\;2 1/2". I am looking for a deeper tone. Anyone have any advice or suggestions? Thanks.
I like my Thunder City Monster baffle. Very deep tone and good power.
Marsh
PS: Don't laminate your nuts. Makes em hard to use for what they are intended.
Do you think Big City makes a set that will fit my mufflers? By the way Marsh... beautiful Heritage.... although I don't personally like the smoke tail light.... but that's just my opinion. Thanks for the info.
Big City Thunder doesn't seem to list a baffle to fit my mufflers.... I took a crude measurement and they appear to be about 2 5/16" inner diameter on the mufflers.... BCT only list baffles up to 2 1/8". Anyone have any ideas?
I'm not 100% sure but I don't think they make a different baffle for the Python. You may need to get all new slip-ons. A lot of guys like the Python sound, maybe you could sell them and get back some of your $. I was thinking of buying Pythons for my bike, but I have longer shocks and I think thay would hit the pipe...Good luck.
Dang... and I just bought these things... don't even have 100 miles on them yet.... and I do like the look.... maybe I will just have to fabricate something for them and experiment.... or maybe just ride it and get used to the sound.... better than factory mufflers at least.
I like the BCT's to. \\;\\\\\\; Mine are mounted in SE II \\;\\\\\\;slipon's2 7/8ths diameter about.

I have heard of some mounting the BCT in the header pipe in front of the slip-on, but I have no idea how that might work. \\;\\\\\\; You might e-mail them with yuor particulars, and see what they say.

Edit: \\; I checked the BCT web site, and they do make a baffle that is designed to install into the head pipe in front of the muffler for those with large diameter mufflers.
