When bars were first installed, the stock cables were used. No risers. After the frame work was done, then all new cables were required.
I had the dealer put the 10" minis on, and they originally quoted me for new cables. But when they did the work, they said they weren't really needed, so they used the original cables. I had no problems at all with them.
I had Buckhorns on when I bought her and changed to the mini apes but went back to the bucks for comfort before riding the apes...I didnt need to change the cables when going from Bucks to apes, but if you have stockies you are gonna need clutch, front brake and the throttle cable, although I did find that with the other wiring, there was enough spare length once I released the cable ties and pulled them tight to get away without extending them...hey, while you're at it, you may as well go braideds !!!! Ebay has some great deals, and our postals here in Aussie is fast as, so broaden your search to Australia and you will find some great bargains, as well as braided spark leads which are dirt cheap here. I digress...
Actually, for this winter, I have a few plans. I am going to 16" apes. Gonna do a paint job, and possibly do a rear fender chop with all new lighting, and side mount plate.
But, I spent so much last winter, I defintily need to wait until this winter to do more!
