Thanks guys ~ another hour or so and he should be up...god I don't want to listen to him flip out about this. \\; If he doesn't go over it today while I'm at the office I'll pull the air filter tonight &\\; top off the tank w/ fresh gas. \\; Then tomorrow it's gonna get a ride....whoo - hoo stepping up from the 883 to 1200...this should be fun \\;
+1 on the Sta-Bil.
+1 on ride it once a week. My wife doesn't ride her Boulevard C50 to work, so I do from time to time. It's fun to ride a different bike.
Wow - only 200 miles in 4 months? I'm usually out of town five days a week, but I \\;average more than that every weekend on my '08 Sporty - and we are in the rainy season here in FL. \\;I agree with the others here - probably nothing to worry about. \\;Keep us posted - and enjoy riding the 1200!
If he doesnt ride it, he cannot bitch about it. I had 200 miles the 3rd day I had mine and that was stopping a ton to let it cool down for a decent break in. \\;
 \\; I know the bike is basically new, but is it possible that there's too much oil in it?? I know when I do a change on the 1200 I only use 3 qts of oil, not the 4 that the manual calls for. Might a high oil level cause blow-by?? Just wondering...
no he really doesn't have an excuse....he's retired...he could be riding all day every day. \\; But then again I do expect him to get his chores done before he can go play \\;
Quick update...pulled the plugs and filter last night. All looked good. \\; I ran it today (40 miles) to the office and back and it never gave me a bit of trouble. \\; After I topped off the tank it sounded MUCH better too. \\; \\; (I did notice that the paint on the tank around the fill hole is flaking...that has me a tad peaved [:@][:@].)
I'm gonna wrap some miles on it and that should fix the problems...she is just lonely I think  \\;
As for enjoying riding the 1200 vs the 883...I like the torque off the line but my 883 is a more comfy ride. \\;
