Default Spark plug wireskeep stock or change?

1991 xlh 1200. I have the original wires, they work fine and are in good condition. Is there any benefit to change these to a higher quality?

Thanks

Other than they are 17 years old? If you had car that age, regardless of the miles, a tune up would involve new plugs, wires, belts and hoses.

Just my opinion but since you asked the question I am guessing that you expect something or know in your own mind that it is a good idea. If for no other reason than peace of mind I'd do it. Then go on a nice test ride!

if you're expecting performance gains, no difference. But them being that old, I agree with jdvorchak.

&nbsp\\;Get a set of Magnacores, Harley wires are the cheapest pieces of crap money can buy.&nbsp\\;

After this long, the&nbsp\\;age has probably increased the resistance in the copper.&nbsp\\; I'd definitely go with a new set, whether stock or aftermarket.&nbsp\\; For what it will cost you, the peace of mind alone would be worth it.

Assuming they are the original wires, I would expect that you would get a small increase in performance (very small). Wires that old are in need of replacing.
