Default Struts or shocks?

I am considering struts instead of lowering shocks.I ride about 40 miles round trip to work daily and just around town the rest of the time.I just want to know how rough a ride it really is with struts.

It will be very rough. Put your shocks on their stiffest setting, then ride a bit. Then multiply that pain by 7. Most hardtails now have very large tires that have some cushion to them. Stock tires won't.

I've never understood the desire to put struts on a sporty.

Try 'em.....Everyone will tell you how bad they suck ,but how many have actually tried them?I ride mine everyday, leave my zipcode regularly, and have done a few hundred miles on them with no spring seat.I love the way the bike handles and takes off from a light.RR tracks, speed bumps, potholes can be rough but thats what mid controls are for.You can find a set on eBay for $40.00.There's a guy who'll make 'em to order(any length or color)If you hate 'em put the shocks back on

If you are going with struts, you might as well slam it- maybe 9.5".

Go for it. Just remember, you can't sell your teeth on eBay and you're too old for the Tooth Fairy. Maybe you could make them into a bracelet.
