Default 1200R No lights problem

&nbsp\\;
&nbsp\\; I have a 2008 1200 roadster with 2000 mi on it.&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; There is a single fuse for the lights,
&nbsp\\; which has blown six times.&nbsp\\; The bike starts and runs but I have no lights.
&nbsp\\; The first time was at about 260 mi. I put the spare in and every thing appeared to be fine.
&nbsp\\; The second time was at about 1300 mi.&nbsp\\; I stopped on the road and put a spare in and it
&nbsp\\; blew when I turned the key on.&nbsp\\; I took it to dealer and They could not find any thing
&nbsp\\; wrong.&nbsp\\; About 300 mi later, the fuse blew as soon as I hit the starter. I replaced&nbsp\\;the
&nbsp\\; fuse and I had lights. At about 2000 mi&nbsp\\;two fuses&nbsp\\;back to back blew as soon as I hit
&nbsp\\; the starter.&nbsp\\; I rode it straight to the dealer&nbsp\\; and they have not fixed it yet.&nbsp\\; The
&nbsp\\; fuel pump and fuel pump light do work.&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;I do appreciate the problem the dealer has, as
&nbsp\\; it is hard to fix some thing that appears not to be broken most of the time, so I thought
&nbsp\\; I would ask if anybody on the forum might suggest how to fix the problem.
&nbsp\\; Thanks in advance.

I'm no expert by a long shot, but some how it seems to me that a live wire is some how going to ground, ( not grounded ) but just touching now and again. If it was a bad ground, then the same thing, no lights. But you wont blow a fuse. Just trying to help, but again, I"m weak at elec.

a bad ground somewhere, hard to check, but i would start with all the battery cables and terminals, give them a good look over, tighten them up and make sure its not rubbing the frame or anything.

then follow the light wires from your ignition switch and look them over as well.

i want to say your voltage regulator or something is blowing out your lights, maybe you can have a indy test it and see if everything is within specs.
