I have the opportunity to buy a 77 Cafe Racer. \\; The bike is owned by an old woman and hasn't been ridden in a few years, in fact I'm pretty sure it's not running. \\; I'm not sure what it will take to get it running and I'm not sure what I'll have to paint to make it look good. \\;
 \\;
I want it as a daily rider though and my father-in-law says that they are alot of upkeep because it is a shovelhead motor. \\; Will I be able to get it running? \\; Will it be reliable and not cost me and arm and a leg to keep running? \\; Would I be better off finding a 1200 sportster? \\; Is it a good buy? \\; By they way I can probably get it for under 2 G's.
 \\;
Any info on these bikes would be appreciated.
Not much to fix....if it's a shovel...but if it's an XLCR, wouldn't that be an Ironhead?
Screw it, mod the frame a bit and toss an Evo in that little bastard. \\; Hell, I've seen a RevTech 103 installed on a sportster frame....it don't take much work.
