Then they just paint it black. I wish there could just be a write up of this mod instead of going through 30 pages of posts and comments.....good luck

Reason: more info.
I didn't even paint it black and I think it looks fine. I thought about it but I wasn't sure how well paint will hold to that surface even after a good sanding (and believe me I'm no stranger to rattle-canning my bike)
question guys, I really want to get mine done this weekend is there anything at an auto zone or napa that would compare to this and would work just as good?

I tried those places plus carquest and advance. Nobody in my area had anything. I think your best bet is to find a racing parts store if there's one near you.
Seriously, when I ordered mine from Summit, It was there the NEXT DAY!!! Like Snag said, you'll have a hard time finding it anywhere other than a racing parts store...

I got mine from Summit the next day too, but I thought it was because I'm 2 hours from there. Guess they're just quick.
