Sunday was one of the best days we have had weather wise. 11 bikes (2 ladies and 9 men) headed to Rockhall, MD to get crabs and take Rt 9 back thru DE to NJ. On our way home we stopped at St. Augustine (a place you must go to if you are in the area).
This was a challenging ride for me considering I typically ride with other female riders. You men ride hard and don't really stop to smell the roses. Is it really necessary to ride 65 in a 40?

My wife would yell at me if I took my bike out and ended up getting crabs.
Saturday we took the fatty down to the Washington County (RI) Fair to hear Josh Gracen and eat our fill of chowder and clam cakes. Sunday was a ride to East Hampton, CT to the CT British Iron ***'n Annual Party. Plenty of old Brit iron to look at as well as old HD and Indian rides. Good food, a good party and great riding weather which has been in short supply in New England this summer.

Saturday, only rode about 16 miles total, mostly to get gas for Sunday, and to make sure I liked the handlebar height adjustment I did.
Sunday, me and hubby rode to a local "Country Fair", which is in one of the beautiful "hill towns" of western Massachusetts. The ride was gorgeous - gracefully curving roads and rolling hills through farm country. It's what I love best about riding - the views, the scents (yes, even the cow manure rank enough to really wake you up - just makes you feel so alive!), the peace and serenity that I feel when I am riding. And the fair was one of those real down-home local folks country fairs - not all commercialized. There were pie eating contests, ox pulls, petting zoo, music groups, parade, kids running around barefoot in the grass doing hula-hoops, etc, and despite definitely NOT looking like one of the local folk, was made to feel right at home with all the hospitality and friendliness all around. Then rode back a different but equally pretty and serene route, to come home to our dog who badly needed a walk. (And after eating something at practically every food booth, WE needed one too )
