Default Push rod problems and timming!!!

I have a 1989 xlh1200 sportster and i had a mechanic do some work on my bike and had him take off some parts to have them chromed such as the cam cover, brakes, primary cover, and the one thing i couldnt understand him taking off were the push rods to chrome the tappet covers. now he can get the push rods back in, doesnt remember which one goes where, and most of all doesnt have a clue on the timming and whatever else is involved with putting those push rods back into place. i need schematics for the timming, and anything else that will help putting in the push rods how they should be fitted in!!!

If you don't have a Service Manual, ordering one would be a good start.

+1 on the service manual.
I guess the guy you had remove the parts must not be a mechanic after all.
