so over the weekend well saturday i decided to do the turn signal relocation to the lower forks very easy and simple to do with a torx bit set an torque wrench. also did the speedo relocation modi jus bought a stard chrome one from hd for 20 bux loks great reused stock hardware and just added some blue thread locker to the bolts. for the indicatars i wrapped them in electrical tape then used velcro to attach them to the clamp. they hold great and dont mover. i used the autometer tach mount for the speedoi used zip ties to help hold to speedo on besides the one screw. it feels alot more secure with 3 black zip ties. well now for the pics leme kno wat ya think. and a big thanks to everyones help on here tracking down the speedo clamp.
they are the black diamond footpegs and shifter peg from harley.
and i dont need to look at it because i always know my speed by wat gear im in. with the v&h its easy to hear exactly where teh bike is revving. but a quick glance over lets me kno if i need to. i love the look but if ur used to always watching ur speedo then you wont want to do this mod.
its not a cup its a clamp. the main part slides in then you plug it in screw the backplate on and tighten the sidebolts on the clamp. it feels pretty secure but i worry alot so im constantly checking it but so far no problems. the clamp is made for a car so there are 2 bolt hole but you can only use one. to id like to find away to secure it some more maybe get a larger bolt and bracket. but for now its plenty secure.
thats exactly how mine is as well. but theres also a back plate on it the same size as the front so it cant slide out. perhaps the customs dont come with the back plate?
The customs don't have a backplate at all. I have converted mine to a different setup that does have a backplate. So you're saying that the clamp covers up the sides of the speedo and there is nothing else on the "sides" when it is in the clamp?
