no you buy a tach clamp by autometer and remove your stock speedo from the mount. then buy a new handlebar clamp and find someway to mouth the indicator lights. the speedo gets mounted in the bracket on the left side of the bke under the tank. its a fairly simple mod ive recently done myself. i have pics and more details if you require.

yea if you look at the back sarefully there are 2 very tiny hex screws easy to miss but just unscrew them and unplug the speedo cable which is very easy. and the front slides right out. then just remove indicator lights with 2 screws. i did mine for only about 40 bux it cost me 20 for the new chrome handlebar clamp and 12 bux plus shipping for the speedo/tach mount off of summitracing .com i used some zipties for extra securit on the tach mount and i wrapped the indicator lights in electrical tape and used velcro to attach them to the clamp looks fine cant really see it and holds them in perfect place. it was a nice mod. and very easy to do. make sure you have a full hex set where as your going to need a very tiny hex key for the speedo screws. and your going to need a torx set to get the screw out of the coil bracket. but other than that its very simple easy and i think looks a million times better.

"Read"? How 'bout using the subject line to tell us what you need information about?

hey nightster_reaper, do you have a part # for the new handlebar clamp? I'm interested in doing this mod also. Thanks.
