aka snap ring pliers. Yes those will come in very handy.
The job is very easy. Red loctite on parts connecting to the frame, blue loctite everything else. Just follow the directions, pretty straight-forward.
Thanks Rex, I have always called them "C" clip since that is what they look like to me!lol Prime, I used the HD ones. I just waited until they had a sale on accessories to help offset the cost, I also waited for a sale to pick up the Heavy Breather.
Thanks for all the replys I was going to pick up a set from HD and they run about $450 chrome. Im still on the fence about it because I have the engine guard with highway pegs and not sure if on long trips if I will want to have my feet down on the mids its like the last item I want to install but just dont know if I should just go for it hehe
did you guys all use the HD forward kit? at $399, its pricey
That's what I bought, but got the black ones for $349 locally. Yes, they are expensive, but if you shop around you will see that you could pay a lot more, and I didn't see that much that I liked, except for some of the sets that were way over $500. I bought some Maypams a few yeears back that were great and about the same price. But unless you luck up and find some in stock, it takes forever for them to ship from Italy. I didn't want to wait. The sad thing is, once you buy the hardware, you still have to buy the foot pegs, unless you use the rubber OEM ones. I can say that the HD forwards are good quality and seem to be very solid.
Been considering forwards for awhile. But don't want to give up mid feet rest. Is there a way to bolt some brackets onto the mid for foot rests? Like to reposition my feet on long trips.
Go with the HD ones nothing worse than saving a few bucks & gain a few hours of labor becouse of BS parts that don't fit. Mine went on in just 2 beers and love the extea leg room.
