Try seeing how it will look without the stock AC, and putting on a heavy breather. It would suck to custom paint it, and then want to upgrade down the road.

Yeah, you have a logical point, but I would be the painter for that part, as I have a iwata kustom TR airbrush setup just for this stuff, and I also have a 24" vinyl cutter that will make me paint mask for anything I need. The shoe would be easy and inexpensive.
It was just an after thought anyhow.
I have to talk to my friend about what he thinks he will do with the Harley, since it will be his and not mine.
