If you've got your hands on an Ironhead, this isn't too hard to do:
LOOKS good, Jake. I am not a fan of solid wheels, so a spoker on rear, and maybe red and blue flames? Powder coat jugs n heads 'aluminum silver'?
I'm leanin' towards Joseph's look tho, with the stripe all the way down the middle. Sort of like the 'original' '71 FX. If you recall what that booger looked like.
Wide tire kit? What you think?
Anybody seen any white 'Gator' fork boots?
The cylinders and heads are cast iron so they get MUCH hotter than an evo or newer. I'd stay away from light colors on them like white or silver since they will darken over time. Red or blue would work well with the engine case silver or white... niiiiice.
The whole point of the "Nightster" is that fact that it's blacked out and bobbed a bit. You would be saving a ton of money by just buying a stock sportster with the peanut tank, chop the rear fender, throw on a set of gators, progressive 10" shocks and getting it painted. Use a side mount 1932 Model A tail light and verticle license plate. Looks much better anyway.
