New here. Was jumping my 04 sporty. Then the problems. Ignition fuse keeps burning out. Did diagnostics, and it said U1097, and 1064. Speedo and TSM. Replaced TSM, no good. Speedo makes a noise when turning key to accesories, then when to ignition I hear it burning the fuse. Any ideas.
Yeah, you probably melted one of the wires, and every time you flip the key to ignition, the wire shorts out against the metal frame/engine/etc. & blows the fuses. Trace all the wires and look for bare/burn spots.
Today, the codes a 1064 (TSM problem) which tells me to get a new speedo. Seems messed up, and also giving me wrong part numbers 67436. But, I started unplugging every elec connection, so the bike was unwired, and the fuse wouldn't blow. Then with ignition on, started pluggin them back, and when I plugged in the right hand controls, it blew. So narrowed it down to there. Will take that apart later and look and give ya'll an update. May solve fuse problem, but then have to worry about TSM and speedo.
Not sure if you ever did get your problem figured out but I did the exact same thing. Jumped my 04 Sportster with a jump pack and would not start. I finally figured out that the issue was a fried speedometer. I unplugged the speedometer connector behind the speedo and the ignition fuse didn't blow. Bike started right up. Rode the rest of the season using a GPS app on my phone as a speedometer. As of right now I am getting the bike ready for spring and trying to decide if I want a factory replacement or an aftermarket. Long story short never never never jump your bike. Take the time to wait for a charger to get a full charge on the bike. Impatience is costly.
Long story short never never never jump your bike.
Calling bs on that statement. Many people including myself have jumped our bikes. Maybe what you should have said is look on the internet or utube for how to CORRECTLY hookup and jump a mc with a car or any other vehicle with a battery.
