I've been asking that question to anyone who will listen. The only way is to move the gas tank and there is some clearance problems with the bars. Im looking for a direct bolt on springer, but they dont make it for a stock frame.

Was changing tank and bars any way, but talked to a paughco tech today and said their springer will work on a 04-08 sportster

You're not the only one thinking about it... I'm just starting to do some research in this area.

I'm still trying to find one also. I have yet to find a springer that will fit a post '04 that doesn't require modification to the downtube of the frame. (the bottom tree hits.)
