My bike was running fine a couple of days ago but today it started acting up and i got a 300 mile ride friday. My bike is cutting out every so often when i am accelerating and when i am up to speed and get on the throttle.. I figured i fouled a spark plug so i put in my used accels to see if that was it and it was still cutting out any answers ideas or comments?
Thanks
mine started going it again recently as well! just cut out at 85 mph on the freeway home just 15 mins ago.
last time it did this i had to replace the coil and it solved it cutting out at 4k rpm but it still did it above 5k
right now i think its the carb not getting enough gas.. becuase when it cuts out it takes the same amount of time before it restarts as if i ran the bowl dry.
i have a 1/4 inch fuel line and i remember reading somwhere here it should be a 3/8ths.
i would rebuild your petcock and check the line and the fuel line entrance on the carb for blockage.
im going to tear down my carb and petcock tomorrow and if i find anything of interest ill let you know, becuase im having the same problem
Could be a number of things. What year/model do you have? Could be a loose electrical connection not being able to handle the extra voltage under accelleration, vacuum leak on the VOES switch, clog in the fuel system, etc, etc. Did you check for diagnostic codes in the speedo?
My bike starting cutting out.I replaced the wires, plugs,Ign Module, and coil.It wasn't any of those things. It turned out to be the little wire going to the coil. The end was loose on the terminal.I just crimped it with plyers and it stays on now.All that work for a 2 cent clip.......
