Default Lowered Nightsters

Has anyone lowered their nightster yet? I noticed new rear struts, but has anyone lowered the front. The solid rear struts I have seen in pics do not look to be much lower than stock. Trying to plan winter mods! Any answers?

I was thinking about going with shorter Progressive springs in the front, but decided not to. The bike is already so low stock that I have a difficult time turning the bike without scraping. Any lower, I wouldn't be able to turn it at all and the functionality of a sportster would be lost.

I have the 11" progressive 412s in the rear and although they are stock height, the bike sits lower when I'm on it because they are softer shocks than the OEMs. In the twisties, I am almost afraid to take a sharp turn cuz I feel like I'm gonna scrape my pipes or my forward controls.

Just a thought...

I had the progressives (mentioned above) installed and recently switched over to 10" struts. Pics may not do them justice......they are definately lower than 11" progressives.

Just wanted to say that your ride is sick and it gave me some ideas about what to do with mine. Thanx, I've also been asking the question, can I fit a 180mm on my nightster without modifying and if not then would I have to change to a chain drive for a 180mm conversion? Thanx again...

Hey jnogreen, you got pictures of your wifes bike, after the kit? I like the height of the bike, I guess I really would like less space between the tire and fender. Thanks for ya'lls input.

Hey Law, where did you get your fat tire kit from.

Thanks

Never mind Law found it. From reading other conversations I guess you are wore out with that question.

You do have a sweet Nightster man, definitely one of a kind! I'm a huge fan of wide tires but how hard is it to turn? Do you feel like you're fighting the bike more?
