Default forward controls

Does anyone know if there are any custom forward controls being made for sportsters? I have a 08 nightster ( yeah sportster) and am looking to replace the crappy standard forward controls. The dealer says " Thats all there is aint there aint no more" I am looking for something along the lines of black billet forwards. Short of going to a metal shop and having something custom made, any info?

Actually, there is only one company that makes "custom" forward controls for 04-09 sportsters (all the other aftermarkets look just like stock in either chrome or black and mount the same way). www.jbrake.com sells their billet polished, chrome or black FXR style controls and a mounting kit to adapt them to 04-09 sportsters but the controls and kit will likely set you back about $900.

I have the harley forward controls and I still want to move mine forward some more. Jaybrake is proud of their stuff. I'm thinking that I might fabricate them myself.

There are kits on ebay and even a guy on here I think that make extension kits that move the stock controls fwd. and extend the linkage but they all don't work with stock and some aftermarket exhaust. So between them and offset extensions those are nice options for gaining 2-4" with stock controls.

Those fancy fwd. controls sure are nice and would look good but anyone who will make them will want premium $$$.

Your exactly right, the problem is all the aftermarket products are just a shinier version of the stock. $900.00 is alot of scratch. I did find an outfit online. Special Machining Technology, that are banging out some quality forward controls for about 1/2 the price. I spoke to them several times and although they don't make controls specifically for the sporty, with a little creative adjustments their controls will fit. You can find them on E-bay also. SMT machining.

check out http://www.pipedreamz.biz/forwardcontrol.html for forward extensions. They seem to have fixed the factory pipe problem that other extensions have. Look at the picture and it will make sense.

Just a note. All those listed by Pipedreamz are just VTwin Mfg. parts and can be had through most dealers/indys usually cheaper. Here's a place I deal with from time to time which typically sell 20-30% cheaper on many parts by Vtwin, Custom Chrome, Drag etc. www.discountcycleparts.com

Those +2" fwd. controls are nice but its bascically just an offset bracket and linkage extensions used on stock controls, shame ya can buy the parts seperate.
