Ride Like a Pro (SCAM)
Several months ago I bought ride like a pro, since me and my brother hadn't ridden for a while. Picked up some good tips on the video, well done.
Well, I got this e mail a few days ago indicating that there was a problem with my credit card and to either pay now or return the video.
I e mailed Jerry from Ride Like a Pro and he said, do not reply, it is a phishing scam. So if any of you bought this dvd the e mail looked like this:
"This email confirms that you have purchased an Ride Like A Pro item. "
We are contacting you to remind that you have purchased an Ride Like A Pro item. We have been notified by our bank that there were additional problems with your card and the transaction is not successfully done.
This process is mandatory, and if it is not completed within the nearest time you must return the product you have purchased.

Yep, The sender obviously lacks command of the English language, it's a dead giveaway for a scam.

Got the same message. No legitimate business is EVER going to ask you to confirm your account information via e-mail. Besides the obvious grammatical give away, the actual link in the message pointed to a server: http://X81.86.72.78X/ourcart/indexb....zenid=XXXXXXXX (the X's changed the original) which is a DSL user in London, England 81-86-72-78.dsl.pipex.com. Motorman said the problem was related to a hack of GoDaddy's servers....

I got a heads-up yesterday from them regarding this scam:

Our server notified us yesterday of a phishing email that was sent to all
our customers emails. This is a fraudulent email, we would NEVER ask you to
reenter any important information. Please DO NOT enter any information into
this email, delete it immediately. Our server has traced the IP address to
the source and shut it down.
We apologize for any inconvenience to our customers, if you have any
questions, feel free to contact us, toll free, 866-868-7433.
