I think your right on the 27" bars i was looking at the other drag bars on ebay that were 32" and just always thought these were 32"...either way i love these bars they are perfect for me and the look i was going for.
These are 6" HD risers that I had powder coated with the HD drag bars. I liked the way the bike felt with this set up, but if I were to do it again I would go with the 4" risers. No need to re-cable with this set up, in fact, there was alot of clutch cable left over. I unbolted the headlight and ran the clutch cable in behind it. It took up a bunch of the slack and actually put the cable in a better position with the grip.
If I were looking to purchase broomstick bars for my 08 Nightster....would they need to be dimpled or knurled? Can I just go with a straight bar? Thanks for any help!
I would go with the dimpled and knurled.
1- this will make wiring the bike much easier, as well as having a area for your risers to grab onto.
2- You probably are not gonna like just a set of bars hanging out there, when you see what a mess it looks like with all your wires hanging everywhere.
just my opinion, to each his own
hey fellas, this answered all of my questions about the drag bars that I want to put on my 09'. Lots of options to choose from here and a lot of good info. I really like BigSchwerms set up it looks perfect for what I'm trying to do with my ride. Thanx again...
Flanders has some nice bars. I wanna go for their mini apes some time later this year. I love the look of drag bars but can't take the position - my neck would be screaming!!!

Thanks for the info,
I haven't taken a look at the grip wiring or assembly yet. I want the cleanest look possible, just wasn't sure if I could save a few bucks and get by with a straight bar. Thanks for the helpful input.
