i'm looking to get some black apes for my nightster a little bigger than the mini apes. i've been searching around and i know the most expensive part is the cables... does anyone know of a good site where i can find some bars and cables in black? thanks.
Licks, JPCycles, Road 6 customs, Dennis Kirk, Ebay etc. all sell black apes and cables as for being specific I don't know that any one place is that much better than the rest except prices vary slightly. In any case depending upon the bars you get and whether or not us use braided or vinyl cables will determine the cost but expect to pay in the $300+ range for all the parts.
Personally, I'm idea shopping for taller apes either 12-14" to replace my minis and am looking at the Licks super narrow apes or the Burly narrow glide apes and they're available in black or chrome and run between $85 to just over $100, the Burly's do come in 14-16" vs. the licks at 12". You'll want to look for apes that look good on a narrow glide so keep in mind the base width should stay in the 8-10" range. I deal with www.discountcycleparts.com for a lot of stuff available through Custom Chrome or Drag Spec. catalog so if you find something through either of those try shopping the price at DCP first as its usually pretty good.
Good luck shopping.

you can find cables for about 20bucks a piece from j&p if you get the cheap ones. Black bars would be the most. I Bought 12 inch apes from jireh cycles for 25 bucks. I guess you cold always get them powder coated black if you go the cheap way. And my stock cables fit, so my total cost was 25 bucks
go to ebay and search for american classic motors, nice shop in PA. and they got lots! or do a search on black ape hangers and you should find them. post pics when you get them!
