Default Chrome

This may be an odd question. Lots of wax manufacturers make waxes that help hide polishing and swirl marks in paint but is there any such product that helps hide those inevitable fine scratches and swirl marks that appear on chrome? I'm not talking about chrome polishes that actually cause more swirl marks I mean something that fills them in like 3M's Imperial Hand Glaze does for paint.

Darned good question. I always use Turtle wax chrome polish on my bikes, not a hint of fine swirl marks in them at all. I don’t know if the wax is removing any that got there, or I’m just keeping it protected. I’ve heard #7 chrome polish by Rain Dance will remove fine swirl marks, but I’ve never used it.

Thumbs up

I've tried a lot of different things, everything that Harley makes plus all of the fancy paste and polishes from department stores and auto parts houses. The stuff I really like the most is Wright's Silver cream, it is a paste but it does not take a lot of elbow grease to apply it. You can find it at Wal-Mart, they usually keep it by the brooms and mop sections. I believe this paste was intended for silverware and the likes, but it is the best I've ever seen for polishing chrome.
