FYI, The last pair or River Road gloves I owned had really crappy stitching. The seams decided to come apart the first weekend.
I was surprised, since they are supposed to make quality gear. But, they were cheap and I bought them because I had neglected to pack a spare pair of gloves on a trip.
I restitched them and I think they'll be fine.
I had worn mine all last summer. Rain, sun...etc. with no problem at all. Their good to go again this year (after it warms up some of course).
I just added my fourth pair of gloves: winter big gauntlets (expensive and worth it). But, the pair that I wear the most is a simple pair of fingerless, mesh, weight lifting gloves. They are inexpensive and have great palm padding.
Actually the mission was 2 weeks before. I was back over there this past weekend. I'm in Cookeville failry often. It's a nice bike ride over there (unless it's 5 degrees outside...that was a chilly ride!)
We will have to meet. Maybe nest time you go to the Hawg Barn?

My fingerless gloves are actually meant for weight lifting too, brand name is Harbinger. Got them at Sports Authority for about $15. Had them 3 years now. Sill in good shape. Like BWLucky said, the palm padding is great.
