I'm in the process of installing the heavy breather. I removed the old AC and backing plate and all gaskets. When I go to put on the HB backing plate, which screws am i supposed to use? I have the 2 screws that were on the outside of the old AC but they won't fit in the cylinder head fittings. And the cylinder head screws (the ones that came with spacers) won't fit all the way into the cavity to put the caps on. What am I supposed to do?
If I remember correctly, you should use the stock breather bolts (barely snugged up) to hold the back plate in place, then I believe there are three button head hex screws that you bolt the inner part of the back plate down with. Make sure you follow the directions, they are pretty simple (and complete) to follow and it gives you the order of which bolts and when to tighten on the back plate and the torque specs. Once the back plate is installed use the paper gasket with the elbow and clamp ring and install the chrome hex bolts to torque specs.

That's the part I'm having trouble with. I only have the 2 bolts that were on the outside of the stock AC that are like 1 inch long, and the 2 cylinder head bolts that are like 2.5 inches long. The 2 cylinder head bolts (the ones that use the spacers behind the stock backplace) are too long and stick out of the cavity by about 1/2". I'm not sure what to do.
I am pretty sure you don't need the spacers just the breather bolts. Put the seal between the back plate and the Throttle Body on (I think it sticks on) and then there should be two o-rings that just stick into the backside of the breathers where the sit against the heads (in between the jug and back plate), put the back plate again the TB and heads and set the breather screws in with out completely tightening (so you have a little play to set the three bolts into the TB).
You have different bolts than I do. Those things are long, you might have the wrong kit or your missing the breather bolts that should come with it. If that is the stock bolt and everything is seating properly, you could try getting an 04 or newer stock breather bolts and see if that works. Sorry I couldn't help you out any more.
I honestly don't know by just looking at them. They look nothing like what I have but the threads and diameter might be identical. Give your dealer a call and see how much they cost and if one of the parts guys could just grab the two different sets and compare them for you.
