sjkinlodi, that sounds real familiar. It did do the trick my FI Nightster.

Yeah it is and after you do it, you can drink a beer watching the guy with the FI bike wasting the remainder of that 42 seconds.

Isn't there an ECM or BCU fuse you can pull to clear them so they go back to basic function?

You'd think so..I don't think the ECM actually work like that anyway - ECM is a POS

Cool is a matter of opinion. That slow, ticking idle may sound cool to you, but your engine thinks it sounds hot and stupid.

Dealer has a chip download but will tell you that it can introduce lag in throttle repsonse. I chose to pass on the d/l.

No problems since.
Just wanted to bump this. I just tried it a couple times on my 08 Nightster and it definitely did the trick. Idles a LOT lower even in stone cold start. This is after having the unplugged ECU in the bed of my truck in the garage for almost a month before getting it back together. Now to recalibrate the TPS on the PC-V.

My TPS readings didn't change enough to even fool with, BUT...

...my idle is now 950-1000 warm and before was 1200. BIG DIFFERENCE and sounds completely different. Lope is definitely more noticeable.
