I'm getting ready to buy the H-D Mini-Apes and have a wiring question. Do you have to to extend the control wiring? I have my turn signals relocated so I shouldn't have to worry about that. I'm going to go ahead and order new cables. Just not sure about the wiring. Did a search and everything I saw talked about cables only.
Thanks in advance
I put the HD mini apes on my 05 1200C with 1" risers... All I did was reroute the wiring... Wiring was plenty long enough... Throttle cables are long enough if you reroute them... You'll definately need new brake line (mines too long now) and clutch cable though...
Just my 2 cents... And maybe the setup is different on the Nightsters with the smaller tanks...
I only put on 7.5" short stacks and had to extend my wires 4" to internally wire them. Like sideways said, your going to have to extend them for mini apes. I used the HD extension kit I picked up from the dealer. Easy plug n play and covered under warranty
Those rowlan sands short stacks ARE the way to go on the nightster, or even his vintage apes...they look made for the nightster!...and can be had in black
A tip on cables......first mock up your bars, then use a long piece of stiff wire....run the wire and bend it just like the new cables would run, then measure it for each cable.....once you have the measurements, go to "magnum shielding" for the exact length cables.....you will not regret it later and they can replace them quickly when they break.
