scs1inc, it sounds normal to me. You're likely hearing a bit more noise when it's really hot due to a thinning of the oil.

I don't know my weekend schedule yet but we can probably arrange a meet-up for a listen.

mine were so loud that my indie pulled out the lifters and changed them.. NO difference in sound and said the old lifters looked perfect.

late model sportsters are very noisy.

understand though, some are noisier than others. Mine was a very loud sewing machine. I could hear it over my vance and hines slipons. Still, the valve train looked perfect according to my indie.
