I've done 600 mile days all on interstate on my 883, cruising at 80 mph. No problems. It is now a 1250 engine, but the gearing hasn't been changed, so the rpm levels are the same as the original engine.

Top speed, mine hits the rev limiter at 114.

We have 70 mph roads around here and I run mine 70-80 all the time and the bike seems to love it,passing other cars and such,19k on the odo and no issues yet

Hi, I am a vendor.
I have an 883, 2005.
I put a 32 tooth front pulley on and now I can drive past gas stations! It is also a little friendlier around town because I can actually use 1st & 3rd instead of just skipping through 1-4 to get into 5th!

Don't be afraid to rev it. These motors are oil and air cooled so more speed equals more airflow and more oil pressure.
Remember, there is very little wear on an engine once the oil is up to operating temp. These guys who tell you to stop and let it cool off aren't doing the motor any favours.
Ride it as hard as you can comfortably.

I took my carb to 48 main 190 jet ,new slide needle an beveled slide edges, CVP carb kit,to get plugs tan,air filter changed, sure shot exhaust, bike screams from stop to max speed no bog or lug feel in,steady pull
