Default Cracking paint?

Hey crew, got a question for you.
I noticed what appeared to be a small line of rust on both front gas tank mounting tabs.
When I cleaned it off I notice the paint was cracked right where the weld meets the mounting ears. The paint is cracked and there is rust behind it.
The bike is just over a year old and lives in a very nice garage. The dealer had the tank off twice to repair rocker box oil leaks but I don't see how that could have caused it.
Is something like this covered under the warranty? Frankly this bike is starting to bug me.
The last repair kept it in the shop for 3 weeks while they replaced the rocker boxes, then I had to raise the tank cause they left the fuel pump wires laying on the rockers instead of placing them under the tank where they go. If I didn't have to reposition that harness I probably never would have seen the cracks.
Thanks for letting me vent.

not sure if the warranty will cover it. mt clear coat is coming off the tank at the filler hole. i found a few spots on my frame that didnt have any paint on it. i guess the sprayers missed it. i just touched the frame up with some black enamel. you would have to ask the dealer about the cracks, im willing to bet the metal was bent, causing the crack

First off, why in the hell would a rocker box repair take 3 weeks? It's a couple hour job at maximum, (unless they were extremely busy and just told you to drop it off & they'd get to it when they could). I'd say that the dealer isn't going to cover the cracks if you take it down to them with the tank lift still on it. Remove the tank lift and put the wires back how they were when you took the bike back before you take it back to show them. Just my $0.02.
