im looking to put drag bars on my 08' nightster. now most bars ive seen have a riser of some sort. but im looking for that low next to the gastank look. i was wondering if you buy the bars without the risers or have to customize? i havent really looked hard but when i did thats all i found. also what needs to be done to the speedo, wires ect...? and how would you go about flipping the mirrors upside down?

try this for flipping your mirrors. This is how I did it on my Iron and others have done it to thier bikes, should work with your nightster also.

Night Train. It comes with (i think) 30" drag bars, with a mere 4 inch pullback. They bolt right into your factory clamp, and alls well. I just put those on my nightster. Man did it change its whole face. It is a little wierd to ride at first, as it feels like a rocket. Depending on you rheight you may or may not have any forward lean to it. I love them. Flip those mirrors too, if you aren't riding with a full faced helmet, its actually better because your shoulders don't get in the way, and its just a glance down.

DO BE CAREFUL after you put the drag bars on without a riser. There is a lot of fine tuning to get the grips just right, and not bump the starter or turn signal at lock. Also, if you arent wanting to get rid of the stock grips yet, take an old butter knife and slide it under the left grip once you have the controls off, then spray about a 1 second burst of WD-40 in there, and it will break itself off with minor persuasion. Before you reapply the left one, spray it thoroughly with brake parts cleaner, or wax and grease remover, let dry, then DOUSE with hairspray and quickly attach to bars. DONE

It's easier than you would think to do all of the stuff you mentioned. I have a broomstick with a flipped mirror, Fishboy upper bar clamp. relocated speedo with autometer clamp, stock riser and tank lift with headlight bracket and flipped headlight. The bars sit a bit below the tank and headlight.
