About the time I pull into the driveway. But that's only because the ride's over.

Do the demo ride...buy the N.
Remember fuel range is basically 100 miles a tankful so every hour and half you'll be stopping.
The N is a lowered bike, so the suspension travel is short and stiff. Just pretend it is an old rigid frame bike...you'll really like it.

As written above, a seat change will the biggest difference iin comfort.

To answer your question I have no issues with comfort on my unmodified seat and suspension burning a full tank of gas at legal speed limits. (I have not travelled longer than that amount of time).

Might I recommend a different seat. Corbin or Mustang make great seats for the sporty/nightsters. In fact, either one of them are used by most of the IBA(Iron Butt Association) riders and a solo seat runs $250-300 depending on the style. These guys go a minimum of 1000 miles in less than 24hrs. Trust me, one of these on a stock seat sucks.

I picked up my new nightster last week I had a jap bike before that it is a bit firm in the seat but the tank doesn't hold enough to stay in it too long

Absolutely love the way the Nightster looks. You can't beat that sportster engine. From the XR to the Buell's, nightster, and sportster that engine will take a beating. I ride my old 95 sporty a minimum of 120 miles a day no prob. I've ridden all day, no prob. I run a Harley Diamondback seat and I love it. I also have the couch seat. For a nightster as popular as it is you're gonna find a plethora of custom add-ons. Everybody loves that bike. Good luck and hope you enjoy the ride.

The nightsters fine. you'll probably want to upgrade the shocks and seat. i upgraded shocks and forks now I have no need for a new seat. stock seat works just fine and comfy.

Reliability is not a problem these days....that's a BS perception.
I have 7000 miles on my Nightster and ride every day in NYC traffic. No major problems. Starts every day and handles everything our crappy roads throw at it. Love every minute on the 1200N
