Find a Bikini wash at a local bike event. That is they best way to keep your bike clean. Try to have your bike really dirty so it takes them awhile.

When I wash my Sportster I use a spray bottle with Simple Green then I rinse it with water. Next step is the blower to get it out of the nooks then I finish it with some Mcguires Tech Wax, it looks great. Next is the best time of all the ride to show it off. My son does his C with the same method and they look better than they did when we first got them. I think if you find a good method that you like go with it...make it look good and then enjoy the ride.

I'm going to try Barebackjack's suggestion. I'll get good and buggy tomorrow and then head to Myrtle Wednesday. Sure they have a bikini wash down there this week.

Do not use Castrol Super Clean or Purple Power full strength. It will streak your paint, polished aluminum and chrome. You can get the streaks out, but it takes a lot of elbow grease and polish. I used S100 until it ran out, then filled the spray bottle with 50/50 car wash and water and sprayed the bike. Have to admit, it didn't work as well as S100 but only cost 1/10 as much per bottle. I went back and got another S100 to spray on the fins every third washing or so.
Ride clean.

I use a product called S-100, I just spray it on a COLD bike let it sit for a minute then use the hose and wash it right off. It doesnt streak or leave residue either. I then use a leaf blower to blow the water off for a spotless shine. The wax I use is called PIG SNOT its fantastic. The one thing you can not do with out is Micro Fiber towels to clean the bike with, but remember one thing. If and when you drop a Micro Fiber towel on the concrete just thrown it away immediately. That towel is so soft it immediately picks up grains of sand and dirt immediately. Good Luck with your new bike and welcome to the Harley family.

Use Zaino products. First the wash and then their Zaino #2 polish which is liquid glass. Dust wont stick to it and it makes your paint look like its wet all the time. Unblieveable product.
