Default help please

I have a 09 1200 sportster low, and I would like to know what is needed to be checked at 1000 miles besides just changing the oil. I want to do it myself instead of paying someone at the dealer to do it.

Buy a manual and all that info is in there.

Doing it yourself is definitely more cost effective. But there is more to the 1k ckeckup than what can be posted in a simple forum reply.

Change all oils, check steering fall away, torque of all critical fasteners, belt deflection, tire inflation, wheel alignment, brakes, spokes, lights, oil throttle and clutch cables, check brake fluid. I'm sure I've left something out but thats a start.
