this is a springer front, its a more nostalgic look. older technology. in my opinion it looks a hell of alot better. but it is a stiffer ride. unless you have a model with a shock in front of the spring.
i honestly have no idea how the ones with the shocks in front work. i never had one or looked into them, i have rode a few and in my opinion they are a hell of alot softer.
but now you make me want to look into one.
A really cool thing about a Springer is that when one is coming towards you there is no doubt that it is a Harley. It cannot be confused with another make. Here are some pics of my 2007 Olive Pearl and Vivid Black FLSTSC Springer Classic, it's super nostalgic, in a really good way.
