I have a 2009 NIghtster,
What kind of slip ons beside the HD SE Street Performance do not require chip updates. I talked to the dealer and he said if i went with the chrome SE slipons it would just be that with no download. They are about 330 installed
Thanks
You don't need a "chip" or new map unless you change air cleaners. Get whatever slip-ons you want. Don't fall for the "only SE stuff they're tryin to feed you."
Personally I'd go with either the V&H slip-ons or a set of Cycle Shacks. Cycle Shacks are def. the most bang for the buck. In my opinion.
As everyone said. Go with any set of slip ons and you don't have to do any remap. I got some turnout style cycle shacks, and they sound great. I do get some popping on decel, though, and don't feel like it runs 100% right, so I will go ahead and do the A/C and fuel management soon enough.
I installed V&H Straightshots recently and didn't need to change anything else. They sound great. The dealer said I'd need to have them help with fuel management.
I'm relatively new to handling Harley dealers but I'm finding quickly that almost everything they say if geared towards increasing their shop's income. I'd like to think they respect me enough as a customer to be honest, but it's not looking that way. Some "advice" has simply been lies.

Popping on decel is most likely due to exhaust manifold gasket leak. I've run cycle shack slip ons for over 50,000 miles. Only time I had popping was exhaust leak. I ran them at first just with the pipes, then did the air cleaner, and fuel delivery modifications later.
