cheap glasses are exactly that GRAMMATON.........cheap. i was tired of breaking cheap imitations so i laid down a few bucks for something good.
Polycarbonate is polycarbonate. I can buy unbreakable framed tinted safety glasses (what I used to wear) for $8 but they cause my eyes to tear up. I've paid $100 for glasses (WileyX) and they are not better, just more expensive.
I have a couple pairs of 'choppers' brand about $10 each. Polycarbonate, foam liner keeps wind out okay and have taken a big hit with a rock and my eyes survived. Orange lenses seem to be the best day and night.
I've gotta go with bmx on this one. I have the wiley x blink light adjusting and they're the best I own. BTW, I have three pairs of the ones from www.thebestmcglasses.com but found that their light adjusters just didn't adjust. I do prefer an amber lens at night so I do use their amber ones and they are just fine.
I picked up a set of 7Eye Taku and love them. I have the Day/Night lenses, so I never have to switch glasses. Mine have the glued in gasket, but you can get some models with removable gaskets. They work great, look great and seem pretty solid.
I would recommend finding a dealer that carries a lot of different styles as the fit is very different from model to model. I bought a couple pair online, but they just did not fit. So finally make a road trip and found a dealer with almost every style in stock.
