Default forward controls help

Im thinking about putting forward controls on my iron but i am worried that it might now be comfortable for me. i am 6 ft tall 220 lbs. is their anyone with them on the iron or sporty low that could tell me how they feel?? also would mini apes make it better too. i love the feel of the drag bars nice.

forward controls are really nice. they are way more comfy. although some riders prefer mids. i love my drag bars cuz they make the bike handle better. plus the more aggressive stance feels and looks sweet.
on the other hand, i want to build my next bike and that one will have mini apes, possibly z-bars

I put forward controls on my nightster soon after i brought it home. The mids were ok but made me feel a bit awkward due to my 6'2" frame. The only thing about forward controls that i dont like is the fact that you cant really take your weight off the seat when you go over bumps.

I'm not 6' (5'10") but I love forward controls on my Low. I don't think you will have any trouble with the forwards and drag bar. In fact, I have often thought that the low rise drag bar on the Iron would be perfect with forwards, as you wouldnt have to lean nearly as much as a flat broomstick.

I'm not sure about the newer sporties, but I can run either mids or forwards, or both. It's not real attractive looking, but it's great for long trips. something to look into. If stock type forwards won't work and you really want to keep your mids, you can move your master cylinder (guessing that's what would be in the way) or get a set of forwards with the the master cylinder attached.

I've got forwards on my 09' Nightster with the stock handlebars (haven't got my apes yet). I'm 5'10" and 185 lbs and they are SUPER comfy! I love the stretched out feeling rather than feeling like I'm riding a dirtbike or moped. I say go for it!
