Default Need help with removing fender on Iron (MReed/Joe-ro)

Ok, so I bought some biltwell struts that were SUPPOSE to be a direct fit, but I had ended up having to remove the guard for the frame that houses the brake lights. The only problem is, these lights are dangling with the guard and I have no clue on removing them. Do I need to reove the fender to pull these lights from the guard and drill into the frame to relocate the rear brake lights? MREED and Joebotics, I know you guys have done this, so any rope you can throw I really appreciate it.

If all you are doing is trying to mount the lights into the frame under the covers you removed then no...no need to remove the fender. They unplug and the wires are routed through in a plastic clip-thing. Jack the bike up & you can see em (if you remove the struts). It's tricky to get the plug through the holes but it's cut out for it.

I haven't used anyone else's struts but my own...what problems are you having with the frame covers?

The diameter of the head of the Strut is to big for the frame cover inlet where the spring/strut would bolt into. And I don't want to modify anything on the frame cover because it will just look like crap. So I was just going to remove the fender to give it a more aggressive look and relocate the taillights like you and Joe have done. Thanks for teh help. I'll post pics later.
